You must meet the DVSA eligibility requirements and complete ADI Part 1, Part 2 and Part 3 before joining the ADI Register.

Training times vary with availability, learning pace and DVSA test availability. On average, we would expect Part 1 within around 12 weeks, with Part 2 and initial Part 3 training taking a further 12–16 weeks. Our typical projection is to be on the road and earning within around 6 months of signing up, although individual timelines vary.
How much does driving instructor training cost?
The Pass N Go training course is £1,499 and includes 60 hours of training, 50+ PECODO lessons, Part 1 learning sessions, Part 3 workshops, Investment Matching, Rescue Training and the Pass Promise.

Can I become a driving instructor part-time?
Yes. Many people complete instructor training alongside existing work and personal commitments. Once qualified, some instructors work part-time while others build a full-time career.
What happens after I pass ADI Part 2?
You continue preparing for Part 3. Eligible trainees can also apply for a 6-month trainee driving instructor licence once the relevant DVSA training requirements have been met.

No. Training is designed to help develop the communication, coaching and instructional skills needed to teach learner drivers effectively.
How much can driving instructors earn?
Earnings vary according to location, lesson demand, pricing and working hours. For a typical 37.5-hour week across 48 weeks per year, the current Pass N Go example equates to average turnover of around £57,600–£61,200. This is turnover rather than guaranteed income.
