Electric cars. They’re the cars of the future and they are becoming more and more common on todays roads. Someday, driving electric cars will be the norm. That’s why Pass N Go are proud to announce that we have acquired our first electric car and YOU could be learning to drive in it right now!

So, what are the advantages and disadvantages of learning to drive in an electric car?

Going Green

Gas cars are currently the UK’s biggest cause of greenhouse gases as they contribute to 26% of the UK’s emissions. Learning to drive in an electric car can be a huge step forward in reducing the damaging gases and can also slow down climate change! If you are thinking of getting yourself an electric car after you pass your test, it may cost you a bit more than the usual gas car but can save you, on average, up to £700 in fuel costs! Who knew small steps can lead to big changes in the world…

Automatic Only

Sorry manual drivers but electric cars are automatic only. Learning to drive in an electric car will also mean that you will only be able to drive in an automatic car. This means you won’t be able to switch to a manual car straight away unless you retake your driving test within a manual car. At least you won’t have to worry about manually changing gears, right?

Planning for the future

As we mentioned earlier, this is only the beginning for electric cars and you can expect, over the next 10 years, for electric cars to become more of the norm. So why not prepare for the future and learn to drive an automatic now?
